Sticks and Pics started when Jim Cawthorn, who had been a wood carver for many years, met and married Peg seven years ago. They attended the Dayton, Ohio Artistry in Wood exhibit at which time Peg took an interest in woodburning. For a few years they both enjoyed creating gifts for family and friends. A neighbor of theirs encouraged them to exhibit at arts and crafts fairs. After their first appearance at Bridgeton’s Covered Bridge Festival, and seeing the response to their products, they have been busy making many custom articles.

Jim enjoys making all types of walking sticks, canes, carvings, and scroll sawing. He has made many custom toppers for his walking sticks as a result of suggestions from people who have stopped and talked with him at exhibits. He can top your stick to fit your interest too.

Peg enjoys taking the pictures people send her and burning from them. She has had many interesting requests from tractors to family homesteads, Gristmills and pets. In her spare time she enjoys sharing her talent with others through small classes.
